Ivan, tell me about Scum of the Earth. I may want to get it for French and Indian Wars.
There’s a demo version on wargame vault for $1.
Tired is enough.
I’ll see if I can get my daughter to order and print it out for me, thanks.
Cheers!
So its a bit of an abstract scale. 6 figures or 6 stands represents a “unit” (could be a regiment, could be a battalion).
Combat is pretty simple: Opposed dice rolls, takes 2 “losses” to break from shooting, 1 in melee.
Lots of traits provided to customize your men to be anything from looters to stiff upper lip.
Guns, campaign rules (they’re even kinda clever) and at least one Motorhead reference.
I have a bit of a cold, so if you ask more specific questions tomorrow, I’ll do a better job answering them!
Is this similar to mechanics in Blade & Lockpick?
Tired is enough.
Thanks, Ivan, hope you feel better soon.
I got my daughter to order and print the rules out, I should get them in a couple of days when she and the granddaughter come visit.
Hope you like them Kyote; they are really designed so that if you fancy, say FIW and have bought a few packs various figures, you can probably make an army. If you bought a box of figures such as the French Marine, Couriers and Huron from Warlord, you’d be off and running for sure. If 15mm is your scale then it’s even easier.
Thanks, Maff, I am in 15 mm. I have not read through the rules yet but hope to later this week.
There is a SYW army list and an AWI list. For Indians, you could apply, skirmisher, wily and savage traits. If you want to go “drums along the Mohawk”, replace the “scum” (ie looter) trait with “scalp taking” and your Mohawk or Huron allies may disappear once they think they have done they’re bit…
I’ll look into that. Thank you.
