This weekend just gone was spent in Nottingham, Lincoln and Newark as friends and I spent a weekend enjoying wargaming, good company and a day at Partizan 2022.

As well as all that we enjoyed a very pleasant stay in the historic centre of Lincoln before attending the show on the Sunday.

If you would like to see more of our little adventure and my impression of the games that caught my eye, then just follow the link to JJ’s

No fantasy or sci-fi, or there was but just not your bag?

I think it’s very much a historical wargames show Mike.

Think there were a couple maybe – the Peterborough club doing something so weird it defies description – and a Silver Bayonet (have I got that right) game?  Think there was a not-SpaceHulk type of game, one big spaceships battle, and something with dinosaurs or mammoths or somesuch in.  And how do you feel about Very British Civil War games? There were a couple of them.

But Hammerhead, in the same venue but earlier in the year, tends to have quite a few more Fantasy & SF games.

    Hi Chaps,

Thanks for your comments and glad you enjoyed the post.

As the post states, this post and the blog as a whole is very much a personal experience of the hobby and my posts about shows and the games I like to look at reflect that approach.

So with that caveat out the way, I think there were a few other themed games as Whirlwind has pointed to, but they would not necessarily have grabbed my attention, and the attraction of a show like Partizan for my friends and me is the historical games content of the show, and thus features front and centre on the blog.

I leave the other stuff and full show reports to other folks.

    Cheers

Thanks for taking the time to share such a full representation of the show. I attended, enjoyed it hugely and your pictures just bring all of that detail back.
