Seen the film yesterday, I had been looking forward to it. It was well acted and the setting very realistic, but it’s the story line I had a problem with. Seems American war films are balls out action films and war films are about the emotional side. There is action in it but I thought, to be honest why did I bother. Its only natural to compare films, and this one is almost an exact clone of Aces High. Aces High did have more action, and therefore a better film. 6/10

Well, the thing with Journeys End is that it was originally a stage play first performed in 1928. So it was never an all-action piece to begin with.
Interestingly, Aces High was adapted FROM the original Journeys End play!
Interesting comments, the chariters in Journey’s end look almost the same as in Aces High! There was a grand total of 15 people in the screen. A missed opertunity.
