Please see here for the next action in the KG von Luck campaign, as the Germans try for a third time to winkle the British Paras out of their position just south of Le Bas de Ranville.

The presence of the heavy support (before the PzGr morale failed this time!) seems (not surprisingly) to have done the trick for the Germans.

The close quarter stuff in the wood was unexpected but worked out well – one of the benefits of paying with a reasonable opponent  who will work round situational difficulties(presuming you are a reasonable opponent with yourself?).

I too have been reading Jim Storr’s book, thanks for the heads up the other week, and that sounds like a great way to game – not the only enjoyable  way by any means but that sort of approach scratches a particular itch I have now and again.

Thanks for the report – more battles coming?

Thanks Guy.  Yes, more battles coming – this campaign is about halfway through, I guess.

I think the collaborative opposition would be brilliant if you have someone who really shares your interests and focus and both of you have a fairly open mind about what can work or not.
