Today is the anniversary of this major battle and I’ve done a lengthy review of the two books recently published by Ken Trotman on the Austro-Prussian War, together with an interview with the authors and a lot of extra information.

Königgrätz 1866: the Epic Climax of the Austro-Prussian War

Darn…from just reading the post alone I want to buy these two books…but man, dropping $100.00 on just two books goes against my frugal side!

I decided that the pair of books IS worth the money – simply because material on the war in English is so hard to come by, and I have all that! On order now from Caliver Books. Thanks for the motivation from the review.

Glad to have helped! It’s true though — the books are incredibly comprehensive and I couldn’t imagine a finer resource to have as a wargamer.
