I tried out Lacquered Coffins today – these were my first impressions: http://hereticalgaming.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/lacquered-coffins-initial-thoughts.html

Glad to see you enjoyed the game! Also good to see you can alter the aircraft armament as needed. I tried to stick to one variant for each aircraft, but the truth is that each aircraft had multiple variants (requiring a huge amount of extra research and needing multiple extra pages to include). So I’m glad the points and stats system allows you to alter aircraft as you see fit.

I do agree about bombers being somewhat easy to take down – often due to pilots being killed or (when using cannons) structural damage. Although I haven’t seen this being an issue with regards to game balance, it does make bombers pretty vulnerable to fighter attacks, and in need of carefully planned defense and support.

We will be looking at potential edits to the rules, as we are still in the early life of this rule set, so if something ends up being a consistent problem, we’re happy to implement fixes.

Also good point about the turn structure being a bit out of the way, you’re not the first person to mention this 🙂 I will add it to the game basics section at the start in the next update / edit.
