I have shown these around Facebook, but I haven’t shared them here.

The Ikwen are a range of aliens that is designed to represent one side of an asymmetric war. They are intentionally designed without a dedicated foe so that players can insert them into battles against any other force. Armed with mid-tech weapons designed to look “acquired” from some other source. These aliens could be insurgents against colonists or perhaps they are fighting for freedom from some oppression. You could even pit them against one another. I make the figures, you decide how to use them.

While there is no hard set release date on these right now, I am shooting for the beginning or middle of 2015 depending on how other projects pan out.

This picture shows the weapons concepts used fort he Ikwen. The curved blades are known collectively as Hooli and come in a variety of designs from shorter dagger length all the way to two-handed, hafted versions.

Some later figures in the range will feature the Hooli blades more prominently. I wanted to focus on the essential troops to begin with.

I am thinking of using these figures as my Sultanate of Ifat Deep Ones.

Great looking figures, immediately made me think of “chameleon” paint schemes, adjusted to whatever terrain they’re fighting in. That could mean a lot of figures and far more time spent painting that I care to think about now! 🙂

Oh, “chameleon” paint schemes, that’s the idea! And the last straw I needed to convince myself to get them as soon as they are here…
