    It’s been a long time since I last played the game. The randomness in the rules of the races I chose (Orcs and Skaven) really put a damper on my enthusiasm for the game back in the day.

      I feel you.  I enjoyed the wackiness of the 40k 2nd edition orks for the same reason, but only to a point.  Unpredictability can be a real hoot when it does something spectacular, but a bit less fun when it’s nothing but misfires…
