In the October edition – number 475 of Miniature Wargames – we have another thought provoking – and fun – issue!

On the cover we have The Good Fight. This article features two 19th century scenarios for Chasing Slave Ships & Dhows with lots of historical context for the 19th century fight against the Slave Trade by the Royal Navy West African Squadron. It contains rules downloads for either Black Powder or Rebels and Patriots.

In Send Three and Fourpence Conrad Kinch presents Combat with Kinchlets: some ideas on how to engage five year old children with Wargaming.

Meanwhile, in The Hood Who Was Good we revisit ‘merry old England’. Buck Surdo wrote us an introduction to his rule Feudal Patrol set in issue 459 so here are another trio of Robin Hood Scenarios that can be used for any rules system.

In Command Decision Jon Sutherland looks at looks at examples from Ancients to Ramilles to analyse Forced Marches in wargaming.

In Battle Scars we present a way to get more from your WWII games with a progressive experience system for Chain of Command.

In Full Colour is a short show photo trip with the best of Colours 2022.
Scratch build this month features Tony Harwood’s unusual take on a tree house.

Finally – we have the usual review sections with a crop of Figures and rules in Defence in Depth, plus Quartermaster for Modelling and scenery reviews, and we have Forward Observer for news and Recce for insightful book reviews.

Last Word Features a p[piece looking at the life of Jack Alexander of Jacklex Miniatures: 93 years old and still gaming.

    Inspriational to us all!
