In issue 488 of Miniature Wargames we have a selection of rules and periods plus some crafting and painting tutorials for all wargamers.

The cover features Christmas on the front: a Bastogne Build in a Send 3 and 4 Pence special with a fast scenery construction for a big game in the snow.

In Prospero’s Island we have a second (and concluding) adventure set in Venice by Chris Swan for his new Tales of Derring Do pulp fiction rule set.

In Who Burned The Bread? we have an 18th century imagi-nations  scenario favourite by Charles S Grant.

In Command Decision: Beyond Gate Pass Jon Sutherland takes a swing at a fantasy campaign that can easily be adapted to historical settings.

In Glorious Defeats In The Southern Seas we have Naval action with the Battles of Coronel and the Falklands, 1914.

In Rapid Fire  we detail fast painting AWI British using Army Painter Speedpaints by Kevin Dallimore.

Practical Wargames Scenery: Tony Harwood builds a big beautiful wall.

Flying Colours: a trip to the Colours Wargames show

Last word: Thoughts on running an event by Dave Mustill.

Finally, we have the review sections with Defence in Depth for Figures and rules, Quartermaster for gaming supplies, plus we have Forward Observer for news and a bumper Recce for fourteen in-depth book reviews.

    Enjoy!
