A friend gave me the old Airfix Coastal Battery a while ago and I decided to use it for my 15mm SF project.
Replaced the gun with a RAFM missile launcher. Replaced the search light with a gauss gun (scratch built from a PSC Russian AT gun, some sprue and a flat head screw) for point defence. Added a big antenna to the communication shack (safety cap from an insulin injector, piece of stiff wire and some bits of plastic for the panels). Added doors to the bunkers and painted evertything a mottled grey camo suitable for dark asteroids or moons. The dish on the big bunker roof is 3D print.

Now I just need my Power Armoured Marines from GZG to show up so I can attack it!
That conversion works remarkably well. I wonder if mine has survived in the kids toybox….
That’s a great re-use of a classic piece, I have been replacing my lost Airfix terrain pieces, the coastal gun emplacements and these, as well as the styrene terrain bases from Amera for the strong point and desert outpost………

Missed this the first time around, amazing! Great scratchbuilding.
