I used an old Mohacs scenario to fight out a battle using the new edition of DBA with my 6mm Wars of the Roses-era armies yesterday: quite good fun, DBA3 seemed to give plausible enough results.

Thanks, I’ve been meaning to buy DBA 3.0 for a while now.
Me too but I am not sure how they are different to previous versions. Does anyone know?
What I understand to be the differences:
Some changes in the rules to combat cheesy geometrical ploys, so I’m assuming the way flanking and conforming works.
Changes in the way support rules work to allow ‘side’ support: this should help Anglo-Saxons (Spears) fight off Vikings (Blades) for instance.
Lots of diagrams to clarify elements of the rules.
Expanded army lists, both in number and depth, with more options and more explanation.
There is a decent review here: https://ancientwargaming.wordpress.com/2014/11/02/dba-3-0-review/
Thanks Tempest – a very useful reply and link
