All,
In case you thought I’ve forgotten about my dogfighting project, here’s proof it’s still in motion (yes, KG Klink has once again taken center stage though). I recently received an order from Picoarmor and have been steadfastly working on them, though there is still work to do.
Here’s the whole mess. I’ve gotten 32 finished, while 32 more have been primed and had magnets affixed, and six more have only been primed (I need to buy more magnets). In the waiting line above are four Israeli Mirage IIIs, four USMC AV-8 Harriers, four F-4 Phantoms (not sure what to do with them; looking at a Cold War gray, maybe USN gray, not sure), six more F-15s, four more MiG-29s, four MiG-23s, and four Su-27s.On a side note, upstairs I have a boatload of USAF (F-4s, F-105s, A-1 Skyraiders), USN (F-4s, F-8s, A-4s, A-6s, A-7s, RA-5s, E-1Bs, SH-3s), and PAVN (MiG-17s, MiG-19s, MiG-21s) aircraft for Vietnam in various states of undress, F-86s and MiG-15s for MiG Alley primed, a bunch of USN and IJA/IJN for Pacific WWII, some Flying Tigers and early war bombers for China WWII, and some more Battle of Britain that need to be finished.
A hint at what’s coming 😉To see the whole thing, please check the blog at:
http://blackhawkhet.blogspot.com/2015/04/more-modern-aircraft-finished.htmlWell, I’ve got a bunch more stuff to get written up, stay tuned.

Cheers and good gaming.
Rod Robertson.
26/04/2015 at 20:37 #23026kyoteblueParticipantWowzer !!!
26/04/2015 at 20:41 #23027Just JackParticipantRod – “Am I seeing things?” You’re not, you just didn’t read the caption 😉 Those are Brit Harriers next to Argentinian Mirage IIIs/Daggers and A-4s. The USMC AV-8s are in the top left corner of the 1st pic, still on their backs, having only been primed and had their magnets attached.
Kyote – Thanks. I’ll be up in your neck of the woods this week.

26/04/2015 at 21:03 #23034kyoteblueParticipantGet a hold of me Just Jack we can have coffee or something. Or you can visit the Big House and see my tables and such.
26/04/2015 at 21:09 #23035Rod RobertsonParticipantOoops! That was dumb of me but in a shallow and venal attempt at justifying my error I’ll try to blame the small print on Jack’s blog; ya that’s it, I’ve been screwed by the small print! Sorry Jack. Really must pay closer attention mustn’t I! Well, I’ll say it again. Those aircraft look great! Well done Jack.
Cheers and good gaming.
Rod Robertson.
26/04/2015 at 23:49 #23040War PandaParticipantSorry Jack. Really must pay closer attention mustn’t I!
Sorry Jack.
Sorry Jack?
And that’s meant to solve everything? After you arrogantly insult the man and his hard work. What insolence. I’m sure one of your poor students won’t get away so lightly.
Shame on you Rod Roy. For real shame…

I feel soooo sorry for questioning your superior intellect and intimate knowledge of all things Marine. I grovel before you, a broken and humbled man. Please find it in your heart to give dispensation to this pathetic man of limited intelligence and poor visual acuity.

And Jack there’s no need for that …we all know Rod’s just a Scottish git pretending to be a Canadian …let it go man…
Rod you know what Jack means when he gives the “we’ll get past this” followed by the accursed wink…

Rod – I’ve never ordered from QRF/TSS before. I received an e-mail saying my order is complete, does that mean it shipped? And how long does it usually take once shipped?
V/R,
Jack27/04/2015 at 02:35 #23057Rod RobertsonParticipantJust Jack:
Geoff is usually pretty quick about processing orders. In my experience it is the postal services and especially Canada Post that takes too long to process things. From the time that the e-mail arrives to the delivery day can be any where from a week+ to a month in my experience but a look at the paper work on the postal package tells me that Geoff got it here fast and then the Post Office dallied. So, yes the e-mail means its been sent and the wait time is variable. Sorry I can’t be of more help to you.
So what did you order from QRF/TSS? Are we moving into 15mm perchance?
Cheers and good gaming.
Rod Robertson.
27/04/2015 at 02:36 #23058kyoteblueParticipantHey Jack did you order QRF from overseas or from Scale Creep Miniatures ???

27/04/2015 at 03:05 #23060Just JackParticipantGuys, I ordered “Shipwreck,” and I ordered direct from QRF/TSS.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the rules, but my ships are downright humble, if not embarrassing.
Rod, I thought I saw you ordered the rules too? What are you doing for ships?
V/R,
Jack27/04/2015 at 03:23 #23061kyoteblueParticipantOh Noes !!! Ship now as well !!!!
27/04/2015 at 03:44 #23062Rod RobertsonParticipantJack:
I am going to read the rules first, then get out my Harpoon game and use cardboard counters for ships to do some play tests and then, if I like the rules, I will look into which minis to buy.
No real plan yet I’m sorry to say, Jack.
I am also thinking about investing in some ancient naval ships but need to find a good set of rules for that too.
Cheers and good gaming.
Rod Robertson.
30/04/2015 at 02:45 #23239Rod RobertsonParticipantJack:
It just occurred to me that Geoff/QRF are moving from one location to another so that might cause some delays. An order I placed on March 30th was posted in England on the 17th of April and arrived here in Canada on the 27th of April. That is unusually slow, so the move may be adversly effecting order processing speeds until things get settled.
Cheers and good gaming.
Rod Robertson.
30/04/2015 at 04:46 #23240Just JackParticipantRod,
Gotcha. I’m out of town on business now, get home Friday, and I would really consider it an early Christmas present if the rules were there waiting for me 😉
V/R,
Jack22/05/2015 at 10:07 #24752GeoffQRFParticipantWe have moved, but only down a couple of units to a better space.
Completed normally means Sarah has picked/packed it and its’ gone out, ie. despatched.
We have had some really random things happening with overseas shipping recently thought. We shipped one order in two parts (due to the weight). It never arrived, so we recast and reshipped it (our loss, our expense). First parcel then arrives – turns out first half went by air, second half went by surface (?!). The repeat order then turns up, this time the first half got re-routed to surface and the second half went by air. The postal service has been unable to offer any explanation.
We do occasionally find that shipments to the US or Canada periodically get randomly pulled by customs. They then just sit there for several weeks…
