another mostly recovered base.the troopers are again 1970s airfix infantry cleaned up, rebased and repainted. They are led by a new plastic strelets officer.

A union command stand. All strelets plastics from various sets, the standard bearer ( originally a standing infantry man) had His musket removed and replaced with A pin for the standard.

a base of Louisiana tiger zouaves. Hat plastics Most with the Straw hat conversion head included in the kit.if I paint any more bases of these they are only going to get white and blue trouser stripes.
wallaces zouaves. All plastic from Emhar. Standard bearer converted from a casualty and given the banner to try and prevent friendly fire.
A couple of metal standard bearers from jacklex. The left one is carrying Lees early HQ flag and is for a command stand.the right hand one is carrying the Alabama flag and will be going into a unit.
the alabamian standard bearer has found a home with another stand of recovered 1970s airfix confederates.
@willz thanks very much,these are the 1st Massachusetts volunteers in their all light blue uniform. I’m a fan of units in unusual kit in any conflict but especially the ACW.
imex cavalry. They’ve had minor surgery so that the two outer ones are shooting much more to the front rather than their colleagues either side, which is how they come in the box.

a reclaimed airfix limber.this was probably the worst one so far. The plastic was like chalk.
While very gently trimming flash with a brand new scalpel blade one horse lost his tail and a leg, 2 other horses lost legs and one of the outriders split into 3 pieces!
i wouldn’t have bothered trying to repair and rebuild the damage if it wasn’t for the nostalgia attached to these figures.
im pretty certain it isn’t going to survive first contact with the enemy unscathed.
