I’m a long time 1/72nd scale plastics collector and painter.
The periods I concentrate this interest on are napoleonics, ACW, ww2 and ancients. Thought I’d document my ancients painting in this thread.
I use them for DBA and Hordes of the things.
this is Robin Hood and maid Marian from Airfix. It’s a hero stand in HotT or a general in ‘historical’ lists.
i use the 25mm basing, and when I play against club mates, some use 25mm figures and it weirdly looks ok. I would have expected it to not work.
Beautiful brush work. I love that style of painting. Alas I haven’t mastered it yet. Looking forward to seeing the rest!
@ian pillay thanks.
a base of medieval spear men from strelets.
Stop it Fairoaks, you are spoiling me with so much retro eye candy. Stunning painting.
@willz very glad you like them
a hero or cleric stand for HotT which doubles as priests for other games. Hat figures druids from their Celt command, the cauldron is from a strelets medieval set.
Very nice fairoaks, the Druids look like a Glastonbury festival wheat grass and lemon health drinks stand.
mire from the airfix Robin Hood set:- friar tuck, Will scarlet & little John. Based as heroes for HotT
a base of numidian skirmishing cavalry. Hat miniatures.
strelets norman infantry
Nice done, you have the contrast thing off to a fine art.
@Norm S thanks!
a base of Caesar miniatures ninja, ideal for sneakers or lurkers in HotT as well.
a hat Sumerian 4 onager chariot.
lovely little kit.
another base of strelets medieval spear men.
