Just stumbled across this skirmish game (site here) and wondered if anyone had played it?
The 16″ square board has its attractions as does the figure count (up to 7). The ‘hook’ reads well:
Necropolis is a self styled “narrative diorama skirmish game.” In a world devoid of life undead liches and their minions battle for power and resources through the ruins of the Endless City.
By the sound of it, it has appeared at shows (Best of Show at the South East London Wargames Group Show) but other than one mention I had not seen it around.
I wonder if it’s a bit ‘Mordheim for the dead’ or differentiated enough to be a stand-alone game?
Not played yet but have a game planned in for a few weeks time. Skimming over the rules it seems clear and the “always wound* mechanic in combat I think could lead to some fun suicide attacks as you can take down that weaknd enemy.
Will try and post something when I get to play…
I’m facinated by the “narrative diorama skirmish game” tag. Sounds very much like my kind of thing. The alway “always wound” is also interesting, will be interested in seeing how it plays.
Tired is enough.
