I’m getting closer to starting a skirmish fantasy game of my own. Conan goes to the Ancient Desert Kingdom of Ifat.

I love every word of this post.

I like the baby almost elephant.

That’s a Morkanth, a kind of tapir-person. They walk on all fours but can crudely hold tools in their front paws.  They keep unintelligent humans as herd animals, they are called Herdmen, This model was originally made for Frostgrave, and so is equipped as a wizard. More of a shaman or runepriest in Glorantha.

Also like the tapir, very unique. Too bad Anasdiazi didn’t learn anything.

I wrote and played the special “killer” scenario. I double-checked several rules during the game to make sure it was lethal enough to Anasdiazi’s Raft. I’ll have the full blog post later, but suffice to say that only Mataw went out of action, and she rolled a “97” for survival. I think I will need to do another special scenario, and increase the lethality even further…

    Aloha and good evening!

I ran a special scenario for myself as an encounter in the ongoing adventures of Anasdiazi’s Raft. You can check it out at https://five-leagues-in-glorantha.blogspot.com/2020/02/the-lair-of-scorpionmen.html ! Mataw finally meets her match against a scorpionman… doe she live, or does she die?

Me too! And it was just dumb luck that the dice I grabbed fit so well o.0

Nice rocks. Scorpion kings? Were the dice for wounds?

I was working on a papercraft cave set, but I’m not done with it yet so rocks it was. Scorpion men, not kings. They are one of the more dangerous chaos nasties in the Glorantha setting. They are ruled by twin-tailed Scorpion Queens, although I haven’t made a model of one yet. The dice were to keep track of the “monster points” which are like wounds fir monsters, but also serve other functions as well depending on the critter involved.

    Wow! All that for nothing?

    SPOILER!
Did Trackquack do enough to advance? Lucky recovery roll for Quackmore, having to many characters out of the next fights with the new tougher enemies feels like a death spiral.

It’s not about the loot… it’s about protecting ungrateful villagers from the depradations of Chaos! And I managed to forget about the levelling up; both Trackquack and Puddles leveled up, Trackquack gained +1 Agility and Puddles now has more Luck. I have updated the blog o.0

It’s been about seven weeks since I actually played out this encounter, but I’ve finally got the AAR finished at https://five-leagues-in-glorantha.blogspot.com/2020/04/killing-chaos-cultists-like-ducks-in.html Thrill to the excitement as Anasdiazi’s Raft kills more Chaos Cultists in a wholly lopsided battle!

It may have taken seven weeks from my last game to the subsequent blog entry, but I am happy to report that it took me two days to get in another game and get the blog report posted. I played my previous game last night, but I didn’t finish the blog post about it until this morning.

Tonight, I played another game, this time with the Star Fleet Grammas in Five parsecs From Star Fleet and managed to get the AAR done as well. You can read all about it here: https://five-leagues-in-glorantha.blogspot.com/2020/04/three-witches-vs-pinkfluffdoodle-iv.html

So inspiring!  And thanks for sharing your Star Trek houserules.  I quite like your rationale of translating “Bug Hunt” weapons to Star Trek.  It’s a bit like the brilliant thinking in the old Stargrunt rules – range bands of weapons were based on the shooter’s training, not the weapons itself.

@Tony S, I like to give as much to the hobby as I can. Many, many people have been kind to me over the years, and I like to pay it forward as well.

@Gone Fishing, you can find the Star Trek standees as free downloads at http://onemonk.com/wnmhgb-figures.html I have done a lot of my own modifications to some of them, so you may see some standees in my pics that are not in the downloads.

Oops, I did it again! In this excting episode of Five Leagues in Gloraantha, we see the Outrageous Outlaws Offed! That was a quick one. I remember when the raft had trouble scoring hits with bows, they’ve gotten a lot deadlier.

The archery is getting ridiculous. Everyone has long range and good speed, Nameless Priest gives a free extra shot once per game that hits automatically, Puddles can teleport… and anything that doesn’t get an arrow in the eye has to face Mataw after they take down Pariwan Keetslander…
