New player here, still reading through the core rules. I’m wondering if there is much online play of Force on Force, and for miniatures, what’s a reasonable number of figures to start off with for small teams and skirmishes?
Thanks, looking forward to learning more and playing!
I don’t know about the first question. As for the second one use, 3 bad guy figures to 1 good guy figure.
I’ve not seen much in terms of online play, mostly just vids of after action reports or play.
Kyoto’s rec is good if you are doing insurgents vs. regulars.

Only for the second question, the best is to use the scenario Contracting trouble, in the rulebook, without the use of Hot Spots. Not too much miniatures and good for starting to learn the rules.
I’m running cold war type scenarios so I use pretty much the same number of American and Russian forces. For starting off you can use as few or as many as you want. I would recommend 2 fire teams per player for symmetrical operations. I game with a group so I had 6 fire teams on each side. If you are running an asymmetric scenario then I would go with what kyoteblue recommends; 3 insurgents for every 1 regular.
