Hi, I have published a short (six questions max) survey about people’s online wargaming purchases. It’s totally anonymous and just for market research, if you could send two minutes of your time filling it in, I would really appreciate it! Follow the link below:
Thank you!

06/12/2015 at 08:58 #35313MartinRParticipantDone. But as I buy pretty much all my wargaming stuff online direct from the manufacturer, apart from brushes and paint, the survey really just describes what periods and scales I game in.

Not asked but worth factoring, for US customers online purchasing is often a necessity, as there are precious few local vendors and snail mail is almost extinct for ordering or payment. Also, postage from overseas has become brutally high, and with great reluctance that has caused me to buy less and less outside of the US. I now look first for US products or suppliers for things I would always have ordered from the UK or Italy without a thought.

I don’t like the software that was used for the survey, though. Some things that would have been, for instance, ‘next’ in English appeared in Bulgarian for me, presumably because I live in Bulgaria. That tends to put me off doing things like the survey, because I sometimes lose confidence in my ability to quickly understand Bulgarian, especially when used outside the contexts that I normally speak Bulgarian.
07/12/2015 at 08:24 #35343Angel BarracksModeratorI am not a big fan of having to create an account.
I really don’t like it when the merchant takes PayPal which has all the details required, but I still have to create an account.Last night I ordered some stuff from such a company.
What made it even more annoying was that after clicking pay with PayPal the order vanished.
I was expecting to be asked to sign into PayPal to pay.
But no, they will be sending me an invoice via PayPal at some point.
Oh yeah, and the invoice via PayPal costs more as they charge a fee if you use PayPal to pay!To answer one of the questions in the survey.
I would pay a lot more to buy this product elsewhere if anyone else actually stocked it.
Slow to take my payment and then charge me more for the privilege…?07/12/2015 at 19:29 #35363AbwehrschlachtParticipantThanks for filling in the survey, and the feedback.
Like I say, I am just trying to build a basic picture of what people buy and what they look for in an online seller, as I am thinking of moving career that way. I understand that most people will scream ‘DON’T!!’ at me, however, it is something that I have wanted to do for a long time (fifteen years of archaeology has done me in…) and I just need to be making as much as I do at the moment.
Obviously this is a long term goal, but any advice anyone has, would be appreciated!
