PAW 2023 is Plymouth Association of Wargamers annual wargames and hobby show. Held at the YMCA, Honicknowle Lane, Plymouth, the show is on the weekend of 4th/5th February 2023. Plenty of car parking and onsite catering.

I will be putting on a participation game “The Battle of Molwitz 1741” using my one page fast play 18th century rules.  Figures will be 30mm Spencer Smiths.

Looks like fun but we will be in York that weekend doing the rounds of the bookshops, pubs & other historical bits before going to Vapnartak on the Sunday. Plymouth is a bit far from NW England too; mind you, with the trains on strike it will take us 5 hours to get to York by coach this year.

I would like to visit Vapnartak but like you it’s the distance that puts me off.

    Hi wills,

It was good to talk to you today, and I liked your Mollwitz game. It had a good ‘traditional’ feel, and the players writing orders each turn took me back to some of my earliest wargames. I presume the Prussians eventually triumphed, as they usually do in Mollwitz games?

There were other good games and traders, so I enjoyed my first visit to the PAW show. Just a bit far for me to drive!

Cheers roger for your kind comments, it was nice to chat with you and I am glad you enjoyed PAW.  I got another game in with 5 players in the afternoon.
