Hi TMPers
I have started getting sales notifications from PayPal that only have a list of item codes the customer has ordered rather than a list with description, price etc as well.
This makes it a real pain to process an order so I am trying to find out if i can get back to the previous way of doing things. I have looked through the Help stuff on payments and variables in the HTML code but can find nothing that seems to apply. I’m using ‘Add to Cart’ buttons rather than an integrated cart.
Any advice on how to do this – even where I might find the appropriate info. – will help a lot.
Thanks

Sorry Mike
Slip of the mind. I planned to ask there too & my brain got confused. Not an uncommon event these days.

Hi Mike
All that would do is give me a very long line of item descriptions instead of the formatted list it used to give, still very awkward to read. If that is the only solution then it would be a great deal of work to change the whole website.
It has given me an idea though – I wonder if they have changed some of the variable names so that it is ignoring descriptions. Need to try checking if any of the variables coding has changed format or syntax. Seems unlikely but worth checking.
I know the method is a bit wooden by today’s standards but it works well for what I want – a least it did up to now.

Hi Mike
That is what my current buttons do for the cart except that they also have an ‘Item No.’ – which is the product code.
It is when they get to me as a sale notification that only the item Numbers come up as a list all on one line.

I’m glad it isn’t just me then.
It will cause me some problems but not a disaster.
Thanks for helping
