Met up with Steve today, play testing my “Off the Hoof” fast plat rules.
First go using 1d6 shooting per figure, I as the attacker got hammered.
The ignominy of defeat, I was well and truly hammered.
The next attempt rejiggled the rules 1d6 per four figures and we doubled the attacking force, that worked more realistically and I won.
We then swapped and Steve attacked with the Prussian a win for him using his in echelon attack (smarty pants). An excellent days gaming ironing out the bugs on my fast play rules.
I applaud that approach, if losing, change the rules. Is that ‘metagaming’ ? 🙂

Yep, however as I wish to use them at wargaming shows I did not want players to be totally demoralised from turn 2.
Some photo’s of Steve’s in echelon Prussian attack.
Nice to see the Airfix thatched cottage still in service 🙂
Obvious contrarian and passive aggressive old prat, who is taken far too seriously by some and not seriously enough by others.
Cheers “Not Connard Sage”, you can’t beat the old Airfix cottage surprisingly robust and useful model.
