4 years after it’s release Half-Life Alyx isn’t just still the best VR game made. It’s at the very top of all games made ever.

While not perfect (personally I feel it goes to much into the slow horror aspect) the overall game is just so well made, sounds  physics, interactivity,  story, gameplay. The graphics engine is one of the most complex yet so good. It scales perfectly to your computer. Even though it looks fantastic even on lowest settings, you can play with a potato PC, if you PC meets minimum standards for VR(so high mid end 2016 PC)  you can play HLA.

However even using ultra settings you can go higher. As the game scales to you hardware. So even if you played the game on ultra settings, each time you upgrade your PC or VR headset. The game will look better.

I’ve gone through 3 major hardware upgrades since 2020 and 4 headset upgrades. And each time the game looks better.

Now with a very powerful PC and a pimax crystal. We are closing in on photorealism in VR. Not everything. If you look at some pipes and stuff you’ll see lower quality textures. But walking through the eastern European city known as City 17. The textures on the buildings combined with lighting other graphical effects does make it look very real.

With that title I thought it was going to be The Last Of Us.

    Heard much good about TLOU.

But I’ve been waiting for both games to be on PC.

Part 3 is up. Classic Half-Life gameplay but in VR. With very explody places that you need to navigate.

Also first shootout with the Combine

    <p style=”text-align: left;”>Final video is up.</p>
14 videos 8 hours and 38 minutes for the full campaign.

It’s 4 years since last I played the full campaign and had completely forgotten the ending and how much the ending hintet at a new vr halflife game were you play as Gordon Freeman. 4 years later, still hasn’t happened.

I struggled with 2, in terms of enjoyment.
But by then my PlayStation fan was so loud I could barely hear the game.
NO WAY I would play it in VR, I would have heart failure.
