SHIT!23/06/2015 at 07:38 #26510
I’m sorry you didn’t like it. Is there anything you think I could do to improve next time (either the game or the report)?

Leaving aside all matters of a scatological nature, I’d just like to say that I enjoyed your AAR. I also liked the look of your “bases”, do they represent a brigade? I ask because I am not at all familiar with the Polemos rules.

Thanks. One base represents an average-sized brigade or Prussian regiment (occasionally a base will represent two brigades if those brigades were exceptionally small, half a brigade it those formations were unusually big). The rules recommend that a brigade base is 60mm x 60mm, but I (and some other Polemos players) use a 60mm x 30mm base. I find that the larger bases sometimes give too cramped a game, although individually they do look better. My bases are roughly in line with those used in DBN/HFG, the larger ones are similar to those used in Volley and Bayonet and Grande Armee.

That is quite amazing!! It is Waterloo, in a way that none of the other Waterloos I have seen can be. It is the other end of 6mm from what I do (small actions with large units) but it is bloody amazing. For the Great Battles – with large armies it is the way to go.
Likewise for later 19th C battles when the armies got even bigger.23/06/2015 at 17:29 #26533Steve JohnsonParticipant
Nice report and it really does give the feel of a large battle.23/06/2015 at 23:38 #26564Norm SParticipant
