HOLY SKY CAPTAIN, I love zeppelins and this is like the Queen of all zeppelins.

What is this build all about?

    Yes, this.
Is it for a convention, a regular home game, or..?

Reminds me of crimson skies. Very cool, is this project going to be an entire zeppelin?

This is what I am wondering, though I think the answer is yes looking at these lurking:

    It’s a Crossover Miniatures kit

Oooo, must be a prototype as it’s not on their site.  Do like the 1889 airships though.

I’ll be using it at home and probably take it to some conventions as well.

Well, it’s going to stretch a little over 6′ long when it is all put together….

I think it is a kit that they make periodically – or when there’s enough interest (pre-paid) to justify making some more. So it is not always listed on their webstore.

Beautiful model. Great job on constructing this monster zeppelin!

I asked the price and, alas, it is beyond my budget. I’m sure it’s also beyond my modeling ability too!

They did a great job designing and cutting this kit – so it has been a really easy build, albeit time consuming. Roughly speaking we may have about 12-14 hours in it so far, but we have not been in much of a hurry. 😀

It certainly is.  It looks to be a lot of work building it. How big is the Zeppelin?

I’m so tempted to have something like this, but 6′ is longer than I am tall.
Not sure what I’ll use it for but I don’t think there are many who doesn’t want one.

    THANKS for all the comments.

Okay, there’s still a bit more gluing and painting to do but I think it is ready for some Pulp Alley action! A big thanks to Crossover Miniatures for this well designed kit. And a big thanks to Jerry Terrell for putting it all together….

    It’s wonderful!

    I want one!

I have no idea where it would live, or what I would do with it, but nevertheless …

…actually I think I just want to build one, so if anyone has one, but is too lazy…

How much does this weigh? I’m guessing it’s not too heavy from how small the base is.

I like the unfinished pics, looks like a good place for a post apoc game.

Very cool. Though being familiar with airships I must ask… where does such a craft with so much interior space store its hydrogen? OK, OK, I’ll go rain on someone else’s parade! Still, very cool.

I must admit, after seeing this thread I started wondering if I’d had the wrong idea about how zeppelins work

They use helium and everyone just talks funny!

Doesn’t work. Hydrogen has more lift than Helium

So physics aside, this being pulp and all, that is pretty bad ass, can’t wait to see it completed.
Is there a crashed and burnt version?

First let me apologize for rampant pedantry. This is pulp. Pulp is fun and plays fast and loose with… pretty much everything. I, on the other hand, am boring.  I find the Zeppelin really fun. It’s almost a world in itself. George C. Scott racing around the Hindenburg, desperately trying to prevent the impending disaster. I haven’t seen that movie in years. There are several cool sites on the net of the Hindenburg. It’s amazing how large it was and how few passengers and crew it had.

And six feet ain’t anything. Using 30mm for a “28”mm figure Hindenburg is 13 feet long almost 4 meters

Jerry Terrell is wrapping up 4Ground’s Emma’s Diner kit today. It is an amazing piece of terrain with loads of cool little details. I can’t wait to use this in a Pulp Alley scenario….

Looks good.  The scorching from the laser gives it a real grubby lived-in look, sort of like what I saw up in the industrial towns of Indiana back in the 70’s.
