Building some rail terrain for 1/72 WWII games. Having made a start on this some months ago by prepping up an engine shed, I recently got the motivation to round out the terrain with track, a signals box and rolling stock.
There is a post over on my blog that describes the build. LINK

A timely post Norm, because I’m considering making some track for my 20mm WWII gaming. I bought a job lot of old track from eBay for a very reasonable sum. I see that you went there too for your rolling stock. Did you check eBay for locomotives? The Dapol range has some very nicely priced locomotive kits. You’ve already got yours, but this may assist others thinking about a similar project.

Hi, when looking at Dapol, some are kits to build and others are built, just something for buyers to be aware of.
Very nice stuff Norm.
Excellent stuff Norm. It looks really good. Don’t know why but I have never thought of railways for WWII scenery or any other railway industrialised period for that matter. I do like the based infantry. I am a fan of multi based figures at the moment. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, the kits are the cheapest option.
