ParticipantWhat scale? It looks pretty darn good if it’s 1/48th, outstanding if it’s 1/72nd, and smaller than that I am simply not prepared to believe. And what method did you use do do the bracing wires?
All the best,
John.

ParticipantJohn,
It’s the old Airfix 1/72 kit. The wires are fine fishing line, it takes superglue really well. After I had struggled to do the wiring I came up with a method which would have made it a lot easier. That’s in theory anyway, I’ve got a Revell albatross kit around somewhere I should experiment on.

ParticipantA nice job indeed.
JFWIW the 1st Australian Squadron were Bristol Fighter Bombers. Dunno exactly when they went entirely to the Brisfit but that did indeed occur. If you are gaming the middle east, you should not miss out on this opportunity to use them in just about every role.

ParticipantThat’s impressive modelling. Airfix kits never looked like that when I used to make them.

ParticipantThanks for the reply. I know what you mean, this one is the second I’d done after I don’t know how many years. Adopted a more patient approach than I had in my younger days. WW2 is growing in interest, so the same applies; donkey’s years since I made up a vehicle kit so wondering how they’ll turn out.

ParticipantThat is very impressive. As I think someone else has already said, my Airfix RE8 never looked like that when I was a kid!

ParticipantCerdic, when I was a kid I glued the wings on a Spitfire upside down. Didn’t fit? I made ’em fit!
