Thanks to some rare November sunshine, I’ve been out photographing my old SYW armies, starting with the Prussians:

“Rogues! Do you want to stay in the toolbox forever?!” (My 15mm Seven Years War Prussian Army – Part 1: Generals & Artillery)

    Cheers willz! 🙂

I’ve added some Seven Years War Prussian infantry to the blog:

I’ve got some Prussian cavalry on the blog today:

Wonderful, keep them coming.  I am so tempted to do 15mm SYW but I have a shed load of 20 – 30mm SYW to paint.

    Cheers Willz!

Yes, lots more to come… Swedes, Reichsarmee, the new Wurttembergers and then whatever I paint of the new (to me) Eureka stuff.  We’ll also be doing a game on Thursday, so that will be on the blog as well, along with some scenarios and my 18th Century rule adaptations for ‘Shako’.

I have to say that the Eureka figures are absolutely exquisite.  I’ve got some Prussian Fusiliers, Grenadiers and Horse Artillery, plus some Hungarian infantry thus far and they’re superb.  Despite being ’18mm’ they’re no taller than Old Glory ’15mm’, though are a little slimmer, being more realistically-proportioned than the ‘heroic’ OGs.  I can’t wait for my new French army to arrive, as they look incredible on the website. 🙂 (I’ve been nagging Fighting 15s to expand the SYW French flag range to include 2nd/3rd/4th battalion flags).  GMB does them, but he doesn’t have a very large range of regiments represented (it was a HUGE army, to be fair).

Oh and someone recently sent me this, which is from a 1998 issue of Wargames Illustrated.  It’s my demo game of the Battle of Lobositz.  We took it to the August Partizan (where it was photographed for the mag by Duncan McFarlane) and then to Warfare in Reading, where it got a prize and then John Tuckey’s little show at Marston Magna, where it got Best of Show with a 100% vote from all the other gamers. 🙂

I am pretty sure I have that issue, Jemima! Hat’s off!

We get slapped around, but we have a good time!
