Just did a review of these new rules for my blog  at http://nickthelemming.wordpress.com/2014/08/06/sword-and-spear-a-review/ for those interested (I know several people have been looking at them).

 

Summary: Fast-playing simple rules, which deliver a fun game within a couple of hours and in the test game we played, delivered a historical result too. I really like the combat mechanic in particular, and the author is readily available and willing to answer any questions on his forum. Definitely adding these to the rotation.

[Ferbs Fighting Forces]

Nice review. There’s a lot to like about S&S but I found it ended up more  like working out where to move a chess piece than thinking about ancient tactics. Still well worth a look for £6.00
