    Hi All,

I have fond memories of a samurai skirmish boardgame of the 1980s and am trying to track it down. It was beautifully illustrated with nice counters of various protagonists, and each piece when flipped over showed the character dead or wounded. I think it was set in the earlier Heike War. Do any of you know what game this might have been? Thank you for any help!

    Samurai Blades by Standard Games.

I have a copy of SB, but I’m afraid it’s not for sale.

Obvious contrarian and passive aggressive old prat, who is taken far too seriously by some and not seriously enough by others.

Definitely Samurai Blades. Great game. I got one a copy via eBay a few years ago, having lost my original.

Can’t help with Samurai Blades, I’m afraid, but this French site

    http://www.cryhavocfan.org/fr/fan/echoppe1.php

has a fantastic collection of Cry Havoc maps (tactical and campaign), rules and card figures.

Cry Havoc was the Medieval equivalent of Samurai Blades

Not sure if that helps any!

Mike’s link does have a section for Samurai Blades that includes the counters, maps, and and the rules all for download.  You can also purchase some of the Cry Havoc series (I saw an english version of the site a short while ago bu can’t find it now)
