I’ve got ~300 painted French and Indian wars figures. I’d like to invite a couple of new gamers over for some friendly games using my own home-grown rules. I don’t want to put much work into game prep.

Are there any sources for ready made scenarios that I could acquire so I can just plonk down the figures and play? Large skirmishy actions? It doesn’t have to be specifically F&I, anything vaguely 18th century would do.

    I’m truly feeling lazy.

I find films and novels/ettes to be handy.
Even if you have not read any that seem of use, go to a site that gives a plot synopsis or IMDB for plots and steal from there.

Neil Thomas’s One-Hour Wargames has a great section on scenarios, describing real battles and classic scenarios written by well known designers. Fun rule set too!

I did Monongahela with the Pike Man’s Lament which worked well.  The scenario is on my blog here’s a link to the AAR. Scroll down for all three posts.

    Thank you, gentlemen,

Neil Thomas’s book was available for Kindle for less than $10 so I’m currently scratching this itch.

Wargames Illustrated has had a few F&I skirmish scenarios over the years.  If you can get your hands on them (online back issues might be available), issues 302, 303 and 304 each had one scenario and issue 305 (March 2013) had a mini-campaign of three linked scenarios; The Phillips’ Homestead, Grey Hair’s Daughter, and Storming the Falls.  There were also single F&I scenarios in issues; 309, 321, 338, and 349.  Best of luck with your games.
