This is the first of several tank/gun pits I shall have dotted across my Stalingrad board (the t34/85 is only for illustration purposes).

First I cut out a base from 1.5mm plastic card then the bulk of the dirt is expanded polystyrene shaped with an old knife heated over the gas cooker. That was then covered in wall filler and powdered house brick dust provides the texture.ย  The planking comes courtesy of Costa Coffee stirring sticks (thanks Costa).ย  Snow is Barcarbonate of Soda.ย  I added a few sandbags – just squares of Milliput, the texture is pressed on using an old piece of net curtain fabric.

And also… tank trap barricades for placing across roads.

The tank traps were made quite easily from ‘L’ shape plastic rod. The barbed wire is 1/35 scale brass etch (larger scale is better because you can see it without a magnifying glass ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Very nice
A long time ago I did a few positions for my T34s in 6mm, they’re a useful addition to a wargames table ๐Ÿ™‚

    Wonderful modelling.
