I was home a couple days this week and finished the second of my Relic Miniatures commanders. This is Scipio Africanus. Great sculpting! It’s designed as a little diorama with an ancient Spaniard being kicked by Scipio’s horse. I left the Spaniard off since I felt it obscured the main figure. But that means that Scipio’s rearing horse is supported by only his rear legs rather than getting a little frontal support from the Spaniard’s body. I’m a little nervous about that. This is really, really a nice figure, though.

Sadly, Scipio was completed too late to save the Romans from being routed by a Gallic force in my first solo Basic Impetus game. We’ll see if he can help on the next go.

Poor Scipio, all dressed up and no battle to go to.

    Very nice though.

How was the first Basic Impetus game? Have you played the second yet? And did Scipio work the oracle?

(nothing on your blog about this?)
