Well I’ve started sculpting again so I thought I’d shame myself into actually finishing stuff by posting my progress here
Not much to see yet but here’s a picture of the dollies so far
These are all going to be monsters for Pocket Quest a 6mm dungeoncrawler.
I plan on doing the following: Othyug, Roper, Carrion crawler, Grell and a Beholder.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to pull it all of but we’ll see.
As usual all tips and comments/critiques are welcome.Cheers,
Stroezie

Fraid so( unless someone makes me an offer I won’t refuse)
@Alexander Wasberg
Thanks, I like him to, although to be honest I picked him mainly because I thought sculpting it would be within my current skill level as a wannebe sculpter
07/08/2016 at 20:27 #46042Gaz045ParticipantSomeone should pick these up for casting!
Great ‘aliens’ too as well as dungeon crawlers……..think escaped cargo on a 6mm starship……….round up time!

07/08/2016 at 23:30 #46045StroezieParticipantOk two more this time
The Grell (easy peasy basically my 6mm Cephalod aliens but sans eye and with a few tentacles more)
And the Carrion Crawler
Came out a bit differently than I had imagined but sometimes when I’m sculpting things tend to flow naturally towards someting and I just go with it. All in all I’m quite pleased with how it came out.08/08/2016 at 09:33 #46061Northern MonkeyParticipantthese are amazing you should speak with Richard at Perfect6, as I would love to see these in production

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I have never sculpted anything that was meant to be cast so I dont know if these would be castable as is.
For example do I attach the eyesalks to the beholder or put them on a seperate sprue for ease of casting?
Or maybe, there’s a cavity underneath the grell’s tentacles, do I need to fill that up first?
Are there any other thing else I should keep in mind?On the other hand anyone interested in these figures could probably tell me all of that
Btw here’s some pictures of that beholder for those of you wondering
Cheers,
Stroezie.

10/08/2016 at 00:18 #46211StroezieParticipantA very productive day today, sculpted three more monsters, a purple worm, a roper and a rust monster
I experimented with using milliput and a mixture of milliput and greenstuff to test out some things I read online.
The worm could have been a bit beefier and the rust monster a bit smaller but that would be nitpicking, for first attempts I am quite happy with them.10/08/2016 at 12:31 #46229PatGParticipantAnother great set – well done sir – maybe that rust monster was bingeing on paladin plate.
10/08/2016 at 14:07 #46241Mike HarropParticipantThose look wonderful, great work.

10/08/2016 at 20:40 #46256StroezieParticipantAnd here they are all assembled, based and ready to be painted as I ponder which monsters I’m going to tackle next.

I finaly convince myself that a swarm of stirges is impossible at this scale and now…..
Oh no!!! The madness…. Aaaahhhh!!!!!
11/08/2016 at 16:50 #46344StroezieParticipantNow with a little dash of paint
I also knocked out a little hotglue gelatinous cube using Dm Scotty’s method. Got to keep them dungeon corridors kleen don’t you know 🙂
11/08/2016 at 17:31 #46353PatGParticipantOh thanks Michael,

Houseflies with thin skins of putty and little beaks added on?
12/08/2016 at 09:40 #46382StroezieParticipantOk you asked for it folks, this is about as small as I can get them so they’ll have to do for now.
The three stirges Moe, Larry and Curly
12/08/2016 at 09:43 #46383Angel BarracksModerator12/08/2016 at 15:48 #46406PaulParticipantThose are so cool – I especially like the Grell and the Carrion Crawler. I can’t believe you are new to sculpting. Great job!
Those are brave men knocking at our door. Let's go kill them!
12/08/2016 at 17:25 #46409StroezieParticipantAnd here they are with some paint on them
I also included the rat and spider swarms that came with the Pocket Quest base game which kicked of this whole monster sculpting madness
12/08/2016 at 18:06 #46411PatGParticipantNice work – they look great painted up.
29/08/2016 at 09:44 #47598StroezieParticipantI managed to finish another Grell sculpt, this time it’s a Grell mage with a dragon claw staff which came out a little bit larger than I intended but it still looks good imo.
Cheers,
Stroezie.17/09/2016 at 20:53 #48829StroezieParticipantI have another green to share with you, another classic D&D monster, the Hook Horror. (I’m starting to suspect my 2nd ed.AD&D roots are showing through 😛 )
He’s proving a bit hard to photograph properly, hopefully once he gets a lick of paint you’ll be able to see the details a little better.
17/09/2016 at 21:34 #48832Victoria DicksonParticipantThat is amazing. That’s some talent you have there.
17/09/2016 at 23:57 #48835AnonymousInactiveWow, ranges from excellent first effort to… Well… Wow!
18/09/2016 at 02:31 #48838PatGParticipantVery nice work! (But for the record, it’s all downhill after AD&D first ed.) 😉
18/09/2016 at 08:51 #48845Alexander WasbergParticipantThat’s some nice work, the mage looks awesome!

18/09/2016 at 11:43 #48850StroezieParticipantThanks for all the positive comments guys, really helps to keep me motivated to push the boundaries of my sculpting.
Just to be clear, I didn’t sculpt the human mage in the pictures (though I did paint him😉) he is from perfectsix.
26/10/2016 at 00:19 #51154Alex BatesParticipantThose are all really cool! Nice work!
