A little late mentioning this, as I’m watching it now, but tonight’s episode on PBS concerns the crossing of the Alps:
Just watched this last night. Worthwhile viewing. Though, I’m curious: Were the Atlas Mountain nellies they were talking about the same as the ‘bush elephants’ that I’ve read about previously? Or has the ‘bush elephant’ theory been debunked by now?

That I don’t know, but you can find a lot of arguments about it online!
I was hoping for something a little more definitive than bacteria and churned up soil– a few bits of gear,for example–but maybe that will come with further digging.

Yeah, I’d agree, it was not thoroughly convincing as to Hannibal’s route. Good circumstantial evidence, though. Perhaps more supporting finds will come in time.
