Participant…being the small corner of the Wargames Website where I’ll post pictures of my ancients minis.
These are the latest units I’ve based; the Aventine Republican minis were mostly painted by David Imrie and Shaun Watson. There’s more about them on t’blog at:-

ParticipantAlthough I have no interest in Ancients those are very nicely painted minis.

ParticipantYes,Simon, they are lovely. But I’m getting tired of telling you to desist from your Aromanphilia. It’s beginning to get you noticed and, I’m sure, it’s not entirely in a good way.

ParticipantI do like my Romans, James. If only their opponents had been a bit more regular and easy to paint, I’d get more of them painted. At some point late this year I’ll shift to Greeks, for a bit…

ParticipantVery nice-looking, indeed! Simon, you might want to consider adding a thread for your blog to the “Blogs” forum, as well.
Glad to see my two favorite wargaming bloggers, Simon and James, both posting in this new site.
Cheers,
Scott

Same here but I could easily just sit and look at them for hours.
They are very nice.

ParticipantThanks chaps! This is a WIP shot of the Allied Hastati and Triarii, that I am refurbishing for our Pydna game at Partizan. They are almost finished, now.

ParticipantAnother fine body of men Simon – have Aventine Etruscans and was thinking they would could double as Allied Italians for my Carthaginians (2015 project).

ParticipantYes I should imagine that would work very well. I also used some Crusader minis for this (Ancient Oscans), but I prefer the Aventines.

Brilliant!

ParticipantReally well done Simon – I do like the way you have done their shields. By the way – what do you think of the new Victrix Italians?

ParticipantThanks Garry!
I think the new Italians look very nice, and I’ll have a look at them when they become available. I will complete my “consular army” with Aventines, though, for the sake of consistency (and because I really like them!).
