I wrote a little solo fantasy game (“Solitary Hero”) that can be played in a few minutes, with a handful of miniatures on a small board (30×30 cm). You (the Hero) play against 2-6 Villains, activation is with a deck of poker cards and combat is made rolling one d6. Rules are very simple and fast (two pages only) and include 4 scenarios. I would like to read your feedback … if you want you can find the pdf here https://www.wargamevault.com/product/433744/Solitary-Hero
Initial thoughts:
HTH: The mighty hero rolls a d6 and the lowly villain rolls a d6. Highest wins.
The hero is no better at fighting than the villain and just as likely to lose/win?
“If the card is an Ace of Diamonds, the Hero adds +1 to the d6 during its activation.”
Adds +1 to what, movement or melee?
“If the card is an Ace of Clubs, the Hero subtracts -1 from the d6 during the Villain’s activation.”
Should that be subtracts 1, rather than subtracts -1, which is adding, and thus the same as the Ace of Diamonds?
How big is the impassable terrain?
Does it block the whole segment, if so you could end up with the whole table impassable?
I am guessing not as you could generate 6 impassable terrain features and they could all be in segment 2, which leads back to the how big question?
PS: Do like the naming conventions 😀
Hello Mike, thank you very much for your comments!
1) The Hero does not add to the d6 in close combat, but has 6 strength points, the Villains only 1
2) +1 to all d6 rolls (movement and combat)
3) subtracts 1, I will correct
4) rather small, not too big 🙂
5) it’s always been ” pay what you want” (suggested price $ 1.50)
Let me know if you try some games!
