ParticipantApparently the Navy had a funny tradition – every time a plane would land on the wrong carrier, it would be covered with graffiti before being returned.

ParticipantWhew. When I saw this thread, I thought it might be spillover from an incident on another hobby website involving photos. Glad to see that’s not the case.
I really like the second pic, Geoff. Yes, we do need gas-masked mules.
Thanks for sharing.
Those are brave men knocking at our door. Let's go kill them!

They’ve a similar tradition in Ryanair. When one of their planes lands at the wrong airport they plaster “Ryanair” on it.

ParticipantWW1 German horse with gas mask
Intriguing – the outrider has full face protection, but the horse has mouth/ nose protection only (maybe because a horse can be led?)
Compared to this rig for dogs:
Sand, not oil, in the gears of the world.

ParticipantJim, that is really, really funny 😀
Came across this link as well, showing uses of swastikas before it was adopted by the Nazi party and took on a whole new meaning.

We sure that’s a gas mask, and not just a nose bag to prevent the horse from grazing or biting?

ParticipantIt’s a human gas mask, loosely applied to the mule. The eye pieces are a bit of a give away….
Here are some horse gas masks.
