You can see my first try at Squadhammer over on my Facebook page.
And a couple of rules queries. Is initiative a one off thing decided once and for all on the first turn or is it rolled for every turn? Re objectives on units. Am I right these can only be placed on your own units. If so is it just the spirit of the game type thing that stops you putting them on a unit that you hide out of LOS on your base line?
I don’t have facebook, any chance I could talk you into posting it here as well?
Intention is that initiative is a one time thing, however I did test it with rolling each turn and that was fine too.
You can place objectives on both friendly and enemy units.
There’s nothing stopping you from putting that unit far in one corner, but it does mean you’ll have to fight the battle with one unit less, so it should even out.

Thanks for the speedy reply Ivan.
Looks like I can only post one photo at a time so would take too long to load up here. Unless anyone can tell me otherwise.
Well, I don’t want you spending all day on it just for my sake 🙂
One photo will be fine.

Re placing objectives on enemy units. As this happens before deployment you would seem to get a sneak peak at what your enemies force contains before it is deployed. Is this intended?
In keeping with the “put some guys on the table and roll dice” yeah, the rules assume that you’re aware of what the enemy brought to the game.
If you prefer secret army lists, then enemy-assigned objectives can be either handed to the opponent to assign (devious) or assigned post-deployment (or left out, but that’s less interesting)
