S&S Models 122-mm howitzer D-30

Recently I completed a trio of D-30s from S&S models. D-30s are a very useful artillery piece for gaming the modern era and the S&S model is a nice representation of the weapon system. Further pictures are on my blog here.

Nicely done, I bought a pair, one in travel mode and one deployed, a very ubiquitous piece as they turn up everywhere! What are you using for tows…..trucks or MTLB’s?

I also have several Zvezda 122mm M30 howitzers for more Third World armies…

Did you get the S&S crews too?…….I appear to have mislaid mine in the lead mountain……must  search them out.

Thank you for you kind words Gaz045. I plan to build a couple of alternate organisations around the guns. As such I will be building both MTLBs and URAL trucks as tow vehicles.

I have also nabbed some of the Zvezda M30s for exactly the same purpose – I even have some of the venerable Atlantic Anti Tank Guns for use as generic D20 like artillery pieces for less ell equipped forces.

I did get the S&S models gun crew – but I haven’t painted them yet.
