    Hi all,
We played out a great little scenario covering the events of the Battle at St Lambert sur Dives during the closing stages of the Falaise Pocket, which saw the award of the VC to Major David Currie, 4th Canadian Armoured Division.

The scenario features in the I Aint Been Shot Mum rule book and made for a fun game at the club meeting this weekend.

If you would like to see how the game played then just follow the link to the DWG blog.

    carojon:

An outstanding game and excellent report. You have well captured the flavour of the battle and the South Alberta’s would be proud! The only things missing are carrion, chaos, darkness and thousands of lightly armed but determined Fallschirmjagers! I have skirmish gamed in and around St. Lambert sur Dives and Moissy for years and always enjoyed the battles. You might consider a battle or two around Hill 262 and the Maczuga where the Poles made their valiant stand to beat off German breakout attacks. Well done!

    Cheers and good gaming.

Hi Rod, thank you, glad you enjoyed the read.

The fighting to close and keep open the Falaise pocket certainly throws up some interesting battles, and the mess the Germans were in makes for some interesting orbats as well. Given the number of Normandy collections in the club I am sure we will revisit the subject.

    cheers
