I have just receved my copy of Star Wars Legion and have made some first inpressions on my (rather wordy) blog about it. Plus I painted two of the Stormtroopers as well! Have a read of the review here:
Thanks for reading!

Appreciate the post. I’m probably missing out on a good thing, but just can’t get around the 32mm thing.12/05/2018 at 16:21 #90404
Thanks, yeah, I really cannot understand the 32mm thing myself. Unless it is a strategy to make sure players only buy ‘official’ proucts. Arguably you could use any sized alien figures as they come in all shapes and sizes, plus the same goes for scenery really. But, still, a strange idea…

I bought heavily into wotc prepainted miniatures. What started out as a fun little game quickly ballooned into a huge money grab of a marketing strategy. The size I’m sure has something to do with selling more miniatures, rather than creating a unique play experience. They have to compete wth Imperial Assault. That being said, the gameplay is supposed to be fun, which I suppose is the most important factor.15/05/2018 at 15:20 #90503
I guess it all comes down to whether or not you can control your urges and just buy the things you need rather than what you want!

I’m sticking to my 15mm simplified Star Wars game. I was tempted by Imperial Assault, but another huge game with expansions is too much. ALthough the new Hellboy game looks cool . . .15/05/2018 at 20:17 #90522

Some friends of mine gave it at try last weekend. They mostly liked it, though immediately qualified it with “it’s ok for a tournament game, but is not the Star Wars skirmish/battle game most gamers are looking for.” I too am bummed about the scale change, that just blew my mind that they’d throw away all of that previous development cost as well as stock…

I’ve been thinking about the scale and in Mansions of Madness, the figures look about the same scale (I haven’t measured them), so maybe they are bringing the figures in line with other existing games in their range? Obviously, this doesn’t work with Imperial Assault.

Have either of you played Imperial assault? I hear the replay ability is low.16/05/2018 at 06:28 #90535
I haven’t, but that is because it always looked a little too much like a dungeon bash with a Star Wars skin for my tastes. I prefer more sandbox like games really.

I’ve been following your STar Wars 15mm project. I’ve got some new models to show off when I’m finished with the bases.
Great work on the Legion Stormtroopers by the way.16/05/2018 at 17:37 #90563
Thanks OldBen, I’m glad you liked the 15s and the Stormtroopers!

I have not, mostly as I was trying to keep from getting into another scale (I’m pretty much 3mm, 6mm, and 15mm) though I am apparently being drug into Infinity now so there goes that…
I liked the figures and was going to start collecting them, my daughter really wanted Sabeen and Hera figures but they didn’t get to them before the shut down.
I’m guessing all of the Legion figures will be “classic” era?

So far the Legion releases have been classic trilogy stuff, Stormtroopers, Snowtroopers scouttroopers, ROTJ Rebels and ANH Rebels, but I bet they will soon expand beyond, if that’s your thing (it’s not mine… )
