Talavera – Casa de Salinas 1809

Hi all,

I am putting together the first scenario in a series of games covering the Battle of Talavera, and the first of these will cover the surprise attack by Victor’s troops on Wellesley’s rearguard as the allies pulled back over the Alberche River.

Great scenario, thanks for sharing. Am now following your great blog, can’t think why I didn’t before!

I am forced to admit the historical scenario and terrain possibilities in 15mm scale are much better than 28mm – looking forward to seeing the batreps!

Hi Sparker, welcome to the blog.

I love 28mm and I thought your recent Talavera was a great looking game, but I went for Napoleonics in 18mm as a great compromise between true 15mm and the 28’s with regard to being able to stage a really big game without having to hire out the proverbial aircraft hangar and to still have figures with lots of character.

At the end of the day, if you like Napoleonics, you can find the fun in games whatever the scale.
