Here is the setup for my next game, with scenario details and how I generated the forces using FiveCore Brigade Commander.  Enjoy and good gaming!

So at this point you are combining elements of 3 different games into one tasty wargaming stew?

    I approve wholeheartedly 🙂

My next step is to incorporate elements of the boardgame clue…

Is there are modern version of Tank On Tank rules? I have the WWII versions.

They are a modification of my own devising, you can find my reference sheet and mods on one of the links on the right side of my blog, feedback welcome!

I like that town and how a unit can occupy it.

    Tired is enough.

Thank you!  They are monopoly buildings.  I am slowly upgrading to Brigade miniatures buildings, some will debut in my next battle report.  I am slowly setting up a Soviet breakthrough attack of 2 Motor Rifle Regiments against a US Army 3 battalion Brigade.  It is on a roughly 15km frontage (I know, a little on the large size for 2 MRR’s but still plausible) so we’ll see how the rules scale up.  If the American hold out, I may play the followup attack by the Divisional second echelon…

Toying with a few rules ideas, any opinions are welcome.

Counterbattery fire: Allow any artillery units to that fire to be targeted by enemy artillery units in the enemy players phase. (maybe adding unnecessary complexity, I am on the fence about this one)

Rocket Artillery: need to spend a friendly turn “reloading” between firing.  Would apply to NATO MLRS and Soviet BM rocket systems.

Visibility: Restrict visibility to 2 hexes unless the firer or target is on a hill.  This would be more in line with the original rules, reflect the actual terrain a little bit better, and make high ground more valuable for the defender. (Have not thought this one through all the way.)

    Thoughts?

I looked over your rules and I liked what I saw.  How did you come up with the stats on the various weapons?

You could add in a 3+ (or so) die roll for the counter-battery, just to not make it too much of a sure thing

Christopher: I did a SWAG, trying to keep the relative defense values to where they “felt” right, keeping in mind that to “destroy” a unit you are rendering a company combat ineffective for the time being.

Ivan: I like that, then you have to decide if you want to spend a precious action point on the attempt.

Oh, I also have plans to do a straight conversion of tank on tank east front to miniatures.  Got to get painting!
