ParticipantThe campaign game of Target for Tonight recreating some of the first large attacks made by Bomber Command Mainforce in the autumn of 1943 in what became known later as the Battle of Berlin has recommenced at the Devon Wargames Group from where we left off back in February 2020.
With the game delicately balanced on a drawn campaign and with this the penultimate game in eight it was all to play for and Bomber Command were looking for a devastating attack on Hannover to reassert their previous dominance.

ParticipantOh man, that is a heartbreaking set of losses. The bombing map looked great right up until the end. Tft really is a riveting game, I’ve only gotten in 1 mission of my own (which resulted in a crash at landing) and it really can make you sweat like you’re in a sauna.
Thank you for the write up, hopefully the next campaign goes to the Allies.

ParticipantHi,
Oh yes, I think this is a TfT game that I and the players will remember well into our dotage. We were feeling a little flat after the wind drift die roll gave the result it did and nine out of ten games Bomber Command would have walked away with at least 50 VP in the bag instead of the 19 VP to the Nachtjagd, but then to see it replicate so closely the historical outcome was a real bonus as there is something really satisfying, no matter what the result, when a game system does that.
TfT is a clever game at creating that inflight, to the target and, hopefully, back again narrative, but the addition of the campaign system of raid planning that links the games together at a higher level has really added another layer of narrative and has been a lot of fun creating games like this. Once this last game has been played and the campaign concluded I will rewrite the campaign rules into a more cogent set of rules together with the materials used to run it and put it out for others to have a go with when its done.

ParticipantThat would be BRILLIANT! Campaigns are my jam, I’m not much for one-off games, I like to have links and legacy for fights. I will eagerly snap up this sort of campaign rule/guide!
