I have been thinking about what I like doing in terms of wargames and after much inward gazing I realised I like making models, specifically buildings.

Angel Barracks had a shed load of 6mm sci-fi buildings which I sold 350,000 tonnes of (not really, but it was a lot) and the buildings were super popular.
Crom’s Anvil had quite a few 15mm desert buildings that sold fairly well until postage rates to the US went bonkers.

So it occurred to me that to scratch that terrain making itch I should offer to make buildings for other people.
They can then cast them up, sell them and make millions.

Home life here is such that casting is no longer that viable an option so why not enjoy making models then sell them to people who can cast them up and sell them, or just buy them as one off models to use?

Anywho, what I am trying to say is, if you or anyone you know is after someone to create a range of buildings for them, let me know!

Some things what I did make:

    Some 6mm sci-fi:

    Some 15mm fantasy:

More examples of 6mm sci-fi can be seen HERE and more 15mm fantasy HERE

Any chance you’d take on the challenge of 3mm scale forests? Forests are my bête noir, particularly at my beloved 3mm scale.

Just out of interest what scales would you be interested in working on?

My experience and commercial ventures were 6mm and 15mm, so those are my sweet spots as it were.
But happy to entertain anything up to and including 28mm.

    Here we go.

All finished, poopy weather meant drying times took a bit longer than hoped but all finished.

Each canopy fits onto its own base so they need to kept together, they also need to be aligned the correct way.
So if you flip them over:

You will see this which will allow the correct positioning for each one.

    Hi Michael,

sorry I’ve been caught up with work for the past couple of weeks.  Nothing specific at the moment just seeing what the options were.  I’m getting ready to start a new project (again) and once I’ve figured out which one I’m going for I’ll probably be in touch.

    Cheers

Wow.  Too bad shipping to the US is still prohibitive.  I really like that 2-story 15mm fantasy building.

Want me to look at the shipping costs for you?

    Mike,

I’ve been trying to source 3mm scale Japanese Senguko Jidai period buildings without success.

I’m thinking Samurai’s House, half a dozen village houses, maybe a water mill, possibly a shop or two. Unbased so they can fit on a larger base in various configurations.

I’m UK based so at least prohibitive postage is not a problem!

Not sure if that fits in with your ideas?

If so, I think you have access to my email address via this website or post a reply here.

Yeah I can have a go at making one and see what you think.
Can I be cheeky though, any chance you can pop a 3mm strip/model in the post for me as reference?
    I don’t have any 3mm  🙁

Not a problem, I have lots!

PM or email a real world address and I’ll pop something in the post.

    Cheers,

Sorry for the delay! Things medical, legal and personal have all conspired to lead to to life being “interesting” recently.

However, I’ve just posted a strip of 3mm Oddzial Osmy Ashigaru to you.

For want of anything better they are protected by a small pad of foam and in a Christmas Card!

I leave it to you to decide if they are unconsionably late for Xmas 2021 or ludicrously early for 2022. 🙂

    Hi Mike:

FWIW – I would also be interested in 3mm Senguko period.  I’m doing Command & Colors using 6mm figures on 40mm square bases and have built 3″ hexes for the board so 3mm terrain would be perfect including those woods examples.

Allow me to take the opportunity to say that Mike’s 3mm scale forests continue to be the basis of many happy games for me! It may now be the scale he expected but his 3mm work is superb!

Hi, I have them, things have gone a bit hectic on the home front, could be a short while before I can knock anything up, hope that is not a problem.

Mike, life here continues to be “interesting” so a short delay is no problem at all.

    Also …. Merry Christmas 😀
