    Hmm I just saw this thread and I agree with the original poster.

     

    I made these terrain boards and while I was very happy with them, but the first time I used them in a game I realised how cluttered they were. The games looked spectacular from a spectators viewpoint though. I solved the problem by selling the boards and have started on new ones

    I recognise them from your website. What groundscale do you use? My boards were similar and 1″ = 100m worked. I just got bored with fighting over the same crossroads. Not very inspirational.

    To be honest i didn’t think about ground scale. I tried to keep it as realistic as possible but kept the features to a reasonable size. The rules I was playing at the time (WRG Moderns) had a ground scale of 1mm = 2m.

    Very close to what I have always used, 1″ = 100m. It does squeeze things together but I’ll still use it to fit certain reconstructions/scenarios on the board.
