Many of my Grand Alliance troops were painted decades ago.  I decided upon a refurbishment.  Otherwise, my new French would have been too spiffy by comparison.  Also, depending upon when the unit was done the painting style varied and the size of the battalion flags differed.

It has meant rebasing but that allowed me to mix figures from Dixon, Gladiator, Essex and Irregular together.  Successfully, I think.

I’ve made a start and you can see the first 4 battalions on my blog if it’s of interest.

Very nice ‘upgrades’ to your old miniatures:). For some reason Blogger being very slow and not allowing me to comment on your Blog, or even to send me updates!

    Thanks Steve.

Yeah, I’ve been having problems with Blogger.  No idea why.  I wonder if others are experiencing the same?

Just went to look at my blog. Slow as molasses and format doesn’t look right.

    This too shall pass

Lokked a couple hours later, it seems to be fixed. My guess is they backed out whatever the change was.

That sounds like a good explanation.  Let’s hope it settles down shortly.

I’ve finished another 3 battalions Trelawney’s, Kirke’s and the Dutch Blue Guards.  Mixing different manufacturers figures s working well for me.  You can see Trelawney’s here.

All three are on my blog if it’s of interest.

The Earl of Bath’s, Sir John Hanmer’s and a fusilier battalion join my collection of English Foot.  They are accompanied by the Earl of Oxford’s Horse, both squadrons.  The figures are a mixture of Dixon, Essex, Irregular and Gladiator.

Some progress on my Grand Alliance Army two battalions of Danes and Hugeonots join the ranks along with a squadron of English Horse Grenadiers.

More cavalry next and perhaps some dragoons.
