On Saturday, we fought a break out scenario for Rommel, with Romanians attempting to get out of a Soviet encirclement north of Stalingrad. There are tons of pictures and a write up on my blog:

    You write good reports.

It’s nice to game with the “second team”, don’t you find? I love units of landwehr or militia, reluctant conscripts or dubious allies in my Nap gaming.

Can’t help you with the helmet…..if it turns out to be a “jerry” (Scottish slang for something quite necessary), don’t put it on your heid unless you disinfect it first.

Thanks Ochoin, I’m glad you liked the AAR. I enjoy writing them, so it’s noce to get positive feedback.

Yep, I hear ya. I love the Romanians, and had some 15mm ones for years which I have used in Rapid Fire!. This was their first outing in Rommel though and they performed well. I do find that you end up with a LOT of infantry though! I am looking for some in 3mm, but that may be a bit of a big ask…

I am really not sure what the helmet is, I don’t think it’s a reproduction, and it has the correct lining, there is just something wrong feeling about it…

@Zippy, that was my immediate thought, but it doesn’t have the small air holes, but it does have a small mesh covered vent on either side. It would make the most sense as a fireman’s helmet, but I just can’t find an exact example!

Thanks Tim, no, the helmet didn’t stay in place for too long, I think it was a bit uncomfortable for him, ha ha!
