I honestly wasn’t sure how to start this… Whether to make a thread and post whenever I make a new blog post, or have a new thread for each blog post. I guess it depends on how popular it gets and how many comments each post warrants. For now I’ll keep it here in this thread so Editor Mike is less likely to hit me with something blunt (or heaven forbid something sharp!).

So who am I? I’m Stewart, your average show-going wargamer and techie geek. Why am I posting here? Well I have this little blog you see, and like all blogs this little blog would like to grow up into a big blog some day, maybe find a pretty blogette and settle down and make bloglings. Okay, that’s daft but you get the idea. I run a blog and I’d like more people to read it, to tell me what they thought about it and get interacting. I have some pretty interesting updates up there so far and there’s dozens of dozens of projects somewhere in a box waiting to burst out and turn into something awesome, all of which will be captured on camera!

Where to start? Well the blog dates back several years and in those several years there are HUGE periods where I haven’t written anything at all. So what’s changed now? Well I’m trying, honestly, to produce a lot more content and stick to the path. Today I put out 2 posts and finished writing the text for a 3rd, just needing to take some photos to complete it.

The first post is about a little mishap which prevented me blogging for a few days and how I solved it (in non-techie terms) and it’s possible other wordpress authors could learn from my tale of woe (though they would have to ask for more specifics – techie stuff ya’know).

Secondly I put up my pre-Salute show guide. It’s by no means the ultimate be-and-end-all show guide but it has a few handy tips in there. It’s also an invitation to tell me about anything you might be releasing at Salute so that I come along, take some snaps and write about it in the weeks after the show, you don’t want to miss out on free publicity (I say free, freebies will obviously make me write yours first lol!). Also, shout out and maybe meet me at Salute, I love getting to meet and chat with wargaming people, especially if I’ve spoken to you online a few times and get to put a face to the text.

Right, I’m getting to the end of this post and I haven’t even told you were to find the blog so head on over to Through The Wormhole and give it a browse. You can follow me on facebook, twitter, google+ and instagram for behind the scenes photos and in-progress photos that might not make it into a blog post. You can also subscribe with your email address to receive and update whenever I post (they comes directly from WordPress, I can’t and won’t spam you, honest guv).

I think that’s about it, any of you still here? What do you mean yes? Follow the ruddy link and get reading! 🙂

    New content alert!

Recovering from Salute – tired, achey and fighting off a chest infection, but still trying to get the content out there.

Today I posted the 2nd part of my Force Focus: Seleucids which focuses on the cavalry. This is a side of the army which is very much in progress so it’s a lot of planning and prep work with a few pictures of the current units. The 3rd part with be based around “everything else” and should be inbound in the next week or so. Then it will be a series of updates as I get units organised, painted and based.

Scheduled for later today is an announcement that there is a calendar feature on the site now where I will be listing all events. Not wanting to step on toes here but rather have things in many places. It also has a few rather nifty features such as integrating with outlook and google calender (to name a few) and sending out twitter (and possibly other media) alerts of upcoming events.

Now I’m going to brew up something lemony and medicinal before starting work on my post-Salute report! Wish me luck lol

Today I have been stripping… I think that says it all really. My first post about stripping the paint off miniatures and probably not the last as it’s something I find myself doing often. Metal and plastic have to be treated very differently and this post focusses on metal. The quickest and easiest way to get a bargain is to buy badly painted models!

After a small hiatus I’m pushing ahead with more posts!

The latest post details my 2 new Lord of the Rings: SBG (Now “The Hobbit” because licensing…) armies, High Elves and Arnor/Grey Company.

As always, here’s the link: I’ve been shopping again…

Really nice layout on the blog btw, very clear and readable. And I definitely get you on the trying to update regularly thing, had a long block recently where the big problem was that there wasn’t anything to update with, so in light of that perhaps you might wish to sneak a few articles away for breaking out at a later time? Just a thought anyway.

Thanks Spurious, good advice on squirreling away backup posts, I’m trying to keep at least 5 ideas in the works at any one time right now and working on drafts. So changing text a few times to get it right, taking photos, sourcing links etc each post takes about a week to go from start to finish if not more.

Really pleased you like the layout, it’s not 100% where I want it to be just yet but I have to keep telling myself to post more rather than play around with the little stuff 🙂

There’s no stopping me. I’ve put up 2 new blog posts since my last post!
    I need a Wash…
In which I cover my personal hygiene… no, it’s about painting. Honest.
Last minute prep – Joy of Six 2015
Getting ready to leave now, I’ll be back soon to update on the show. I’ll also be posting to twitter, facebook and instagram at the event.

Returned from the Joy of Six I bring my Show Report, or rather Part One so far. I broke it up due to it’s sheer length and the image heavy nature of show reports.

You can find it here: http://throughthewormhole.com/the-afterjoy-of-six-part-one/

Part 2 of the Joy of Six show report is up for your reading pleasure. It seems I didn’t turn the url in the last post into a link either and I can’t edit it, so I’ll re-link it here.
